The Ripple Line
The Movement of Water, Frozen in Porcelain
When you throw a stone into a small pool, the ripples move out from the central point of impact. They spread until they hit the edges of the pool — the rocks, the logs, the shore. If you continue to watch, and the pool is still enough, the waves move back towards the center, changed from their contact and no longer perfectly circular. The waves write the story of the space they travelled within through the language of the morphing ripples. This series of vessels and plates are an attempt to freeze and recreate this phenomena through porcelain.

United StatesI love the look of these plates but now that I have used them for almost 4 weeks, they have black marks all over the white glaze when any food is cut on them and the only way I have learned to get these of is to scrub with almost dry “bartenders keeper” I also know that this removes the glaze after too many uses and the marks are showing up after each use. the other issue I am having is the lip is too low and most juices from salads or meats drain off the plate a little until they are low enough not to. I have had over 60 years of eating on plates and this is a first. I am so sad because I love the look. One more issue is they are difficult to pick up because there is no ****** to put a finger under to lift. The bowls work terrifically though and the plates seem to be a high fired clay so they don't chip with slight knocks.

The bowls didn’t ship at the same time, but when they realized they overnighted them to us with a handwritten note and a small gift. They went above and beyond and we cherish the items.
