When styling a home one of the challenges can be blending an eclectic mix of personal items in a way that showcases them properly. With so many different colors, textures, and types belongings, many homes can end up feeling very hodgepodge if left un-edited.
My family and I recently moved into a new home that has several built in shelves. As I pulled our decorative and beloved belongings out to place them around I stepped away from one of the shelves to see how it was shaping up. Instead of being pleased with my work, I was frustrated; I only saw a jumble of things. The pieces were fighting one another for attention rather than complementing each other.
Some thing I like to do to bring everything together when I design is to add some form of repetition. This could be bye achieved by adding several of the same item in the same size and the same color, or you can add multiple items of varying shapes in the same color or pattern. Haand Cloudware was the perfect solution; I grabbed a Cloudware Chemist Cup, a Cloudware Sharing Bowl and a Cloudware Breakfast Bowl and staggered them on several shelves. As you can see, the shelves are lively! The Cloudware acts a neutral and contrasts nicely with our darker, earthy toned pieces.
